Kuala Lumpur, 18 May 2025 – CULT Gallery is proud to announce the first solo exhibition of Binti, a young artist known for her fresh, witty, bold and original art practices. ‘Sesuatu yang Something’ is opening on 14th June 2025 at CULT Gallery, 10A Persiaran Bukit Tunku, 50480 Kuala Lumpur. The show will run from 14th June to 14th July, with a public opening reception on 14th June, from 7–10pm.

Binti is a multidisciplinary artist whose works interlace text, visual art, and personal narrative in a conglomeration of photography, collage, and drawings. The exhibition features seven series of artworks that capture Binti's incredible range as a young artist — exploring themes of self-acceptance, inherited memory, emotional vulnerability, and the realities of creative labor through a deeply personal and experimental lens. Blending poetry, collage, AI-generated imagery, and interactive elements, her works reflect a negotiation between personal history and collective experience. Binti’s works are intimate exploration of the self, yet they engage the world in her own, authentic visual language. Her strong writing, unique image making and her keen sense of playful composition make her art distinctive and authentic. Anchored in language play, familial ties and a satirical awareness of her role as an artist, the exhibition invites viewers into an intimate space where vulnerability, protest, and humor intersect as tools for reflection and reclamation. Binti has been exploring her art making and presenting her creativity as an individual artist as well as a collective duo “MATI” in shows or festivals across Kuala Lumpur, Jogjakarta and Chicago. This first solo is long awaited by art collectors, art lovers and the wider creative community. It promises to excite and provoke while discovering more of the uber talented Binti.
